Lauren J. Hartin

Lauren was born in Jacksonville, Alabama, and raised in Powder Springs, Georgia. She received a B.A. in History and Political Science from Mercer University in 2006 and a Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law in 2010. Lauren has been licensed as a member of the Alabama State Bar since 2010 and has managed a solo law practice. She participated in the issue group “Business as Mission and Human Trafficking: Prevention and Restoration” during the 2nd Global Think Tank on Business as Mission from 2012-2013. Lauren served on the board of directors and as interim chief operations officer for an organization assisting women who are victims of human trafficking. She opened Blanket Fort Hope in January 2015. Lauren is married to her husband, Jay, and they are active members at their church.

Alexa James

Alexa has served in a multitude of roles when it comes to growing businesses and revenue streams. She owned and managed her own distribution company for ten years. Alexa also draws from her experience as Major Account Manager for FedEx Kinkos, where she was responsible for growing relationships and penetrating sales in named major commercial accounts such as regional and national law firms, corporate legal departments, and regional and state universities. Alexa learned the power of developing lasting and profitable business relationships. She recognizes her calling to use these business development skills to generate awareness, education, and fundraising in a ministry capacity. Alexa is a recent graduate of Highlands College with an emphasis on human trafficking, women’s ministry, and missions work. Her time in this program of study fed her passion for social justice and led her to Blanket Fort Hope. Alexa is a recipient of an FBI award  as well as National Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) recognition for her work with trafficking victims.
